Dr. Taiye Ayoola-Adedeji
About the Author
Dr. Taiye Ayoola-Adedeji is a Nigerian-American Pharmacist who earned a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from the University of Maryland, School of Pharmacy after obtaining a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Chemistry with high academic distinction from the honors program at Morgan State University. She is also the CEO of Taikun LLC, a public speaker, a cultural advocate, founder of the YORTONES brand and the author of the innovative, educational and interactive bilingual (Yoruba-English) digital textbook titled, The Yoruba Sound Book for Children. As a cultural advocate, Dr. Taiye’s primary goal is to ensure that children are secure in their cultural identity very early in life as this has been proven to boost self-esteem and confidence in children. She is passionate about preserving and promoting African culture, including the Yoruba culture and language which she actively showcases through cultural classes, public speaking, community events and on social media. Through her company, Taikun, LLC, and the subsidiary brand known as YORTONES, she actively works to provide cultural resources, services, materials and merchandise that engage, enlighten, educate, and empower people, especially young children of African descent, to embrace their cultural identity and to be proud of their heritage.
